CHATHAM CHILDREN.
VISIT TO NEW ZEALAND

' |- A party of Chatham Island school children, seven boys and seven girls, i arrived at Lyttelton by the Rama early' ) this morning, under the care of their teachers, for a fortnight's visit to Can- j terbury. None of the children "had previously left the islands, and every-' thing is new. to them. They will visit various points' of interest, including the exhibition, aerodrome, "mills, and factories. They are under the care of the School Committees' Association, who have arranged for the visit. On T*the trip across the children were lucky to see three whales, a shark, and two large schools of, porpoises. On arrival at Lyttelton the children were amazed at the size of the overseas ships, es-| pecially a five-masted ,- schooner, the mass of buildings., and the berthing of j the ferry steamer. • Th« youngsters said very little, hut were wide eyed at the railway station. Their programme begins this afternoon. . i
