"Say it in flowers" is a pleasant custom prevailing among Californians, and business men in that State have a most agreeable Way of expressing their good wishes.to a new competitor just opening a business. His rivals send round bouquets and all manner of floral emblems. The good fellow- | ship among the business people was : one of the remarkable things of this remarkable JStatei, remarked Mrs. Comyns, who has just returned from a trip to San Francisco. She said she was at the reopening of a large theatre after extensive renovation and repairs, and there w.is a huge pile of beautiful flowers sent by friends and proprietors of rival theatres. If one had a cangratulatory or complimentary message to send it was "said in flowers."
