A sad drowning accident, in which a young man named Murray lost his life, occurred about six miles up the Mokau river yesterday morning. v Mr Murray is a resident of Dunedin and was spending his holidays with Mr Charles Raven, Mokau river. With three or four others Mr Murray went bathing in the river, when he suddenly sank. Up till late yesterday afternoon the body had not been recovered. A distressing circumstance in connection with the fatality is that Mr Murray was shortly to be married to Miss Raven. —News.
