UNEASY FEELING IN THE NORTH.
WILL THERE BE A STIfK?
(BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, Oct. 31. A very uneasy feeling prevails, in connection- with coastal shipping. In ' addition to the Clansman's crew having given notice the erew of the Wakatere^ another of the Northern Co.'s steamer, have intimated that they in-, tend to cease work to-night. There is a rumour of difficulty in obtaining or completing crews for some of the - Union Company steamers, but the com- ! pany maanger says that he expects that ' crews will be'obtained. . ."' i The secretary of the Seamen's Union denies that there is a strike and says ' that he does not know why the Clans- j man's crew came out. The Union is doing its best to get over the trouble, which arises over dissatisfaction with the new award." .
