He and; the other , rider both rode 7-^ Harley, machines, and he had SOsec! start. He won*, /, the Hawera Handicap, 12 laps (7-9; I h.p. machines) and President's Cup;j: { 10 laps (any machine). The other i -rider was third in the former^ giving I 40sec. "start to H.M., and second in: the latter, riding a, 3J' h.p? Harley. H.M. had 20sec. start and L.M. 60sec.
