CROWNING OF KING AND QUEEN A DAZZLING SPECTACLE. 81 CABLB-7PREBH ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHI Received Oct. 17, 10.15 a.m. . BUCHAREST, Oct. 16. Albajulia, the historical capital of Transylvania, was the scene of a remarkable pageantry during the crowning of Ferdinand and Marie. All day long there were dazzling spectacles of splendour, and the East mingled with the dignified ceremonial of the West. The Duke of York represented Britain. Queen Elizabeth of Greece, Prince Paul of Serbia, the Italian Crown Prince, and other Royalties were present; also Marshal Foch. The Roumanian Queen and King received a tumultuous reception, and as they drove to the cathedral three squadrons of aeroplanes were buzzing overhead. After a preliminary religious service by the Primate of the Greek orthodox church, assisted by patriarchs from every corner of Transylvania, as they left the church Their Majesties were . greeted by 500 officers, each carrying regimental colours. Their Majesties mounted a canopied dais. Behind the dais were the church dignitaries and troops. Just before the crowning scores

When the singing ended the President brought an iron crown ma*cie from cannon captured from the Bulgars at Plevna. s After the.
