BY FRENCH PRESS
BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOClATlON—copyright Received Oct. 17, 12.15 p.m. PARIS, Oct. 16. The newspapers continue their angry comments on Mr. Lloyd George's ' speech. All deny that the maintenance of peace in th© Near East was the result of British threats to the Turks. They contend that French diplomacy was solely responsible, and therefore theFigaro declares that never was truth more audaciously travestied and never has a Minister so greatly slandered the Allied nations. The Matin says the testimony of General Harington to French co-operation is as precious as Mr. Lloyd George's declarations are valueless. Le Journal says: "Our duty is to inform Mr. Lloyd George that if he enters the peace conference in the frame of mind he showed at Manchester he must bear the responsibility for th< inevitable conflicts.—Reuier.
