BOWLING.

OPENING OF SEASON AT HAWERA

OLUB

The official opening of the season at the Hawera Club will take place on Wednesday afternoon (October 11). Invitations have been issued to all the clubs in the Taranaki district, and, judging by the acceptances, a great many visiting bowlers should be present. The green has been open for play for some weeks now, and is playing remarkably well for so early in the season. The ceremony of declaring the club's fine new pavilion open will take place at 3.15 p.m., when the club will entertain visitors to afternoon tea. A cordial invitation is extended to ladies and bowlers to be present.
