INSULTING WOMEN.
CHARGE AGAINST DISTINGUISHED MAN.

Sir Almerie Fitzroy pleaded not guilty at the Marlborough Street Court to wilfully interfering with women in Hyde Park. The prosecution alleged that on the night of September 29 a policeman saw Sir Almerie Fitzroy accost several women. All appeared to resent his advances, but ne seated himself beside' the women and addressed them. When a policeman threatened to arrest him for annoying women, he said: "I repudiate it." One woman told the police in Sir Almerie 1 Fitzroy's hearing that he had asked I her to walk across the park. Sir Al- j merie Fitzroy interjected: "Of course I spoke to the lady, it is not safe for girls to walk across the park alone." When Sir Almerie Fitzroy was arrested he became most violent and struck the constable in the face with ) his stick and said: "It is an absolute lie." The hearing was adjourned and defendant was admitted to bail of £500.
