Mr. Vile has taken a prominent part on the Liberal side of politics. i The death is reported from Paris of the Marquis de Several, ex-Portuguese Minister in London, a close friend of King Edward. A London message reports the death of Tom Araiitage, the Yorkshire cricket professional, aged 74. He was a member of Lilly white's Australian team in 1876. Misses King and Russell, visiting teachers, were accorded a welcome to the New Zealand Educational Institute, held at New Plymouth on Saturday. Mr. Cecil Wright, of Stratford", who has been on a trip to England, is expected back in New Zealand in the latter part of November. Advice has been received by Mrs. Wright that Mr. Wright is travelling by the Rimutaka, i leaving Britain on October 12.
