AN ENGLISH BOWLER.
A. Kennedy, the Hampshire bowler, has taken 200 wickets and scored 1000 > runs in the season just closed in Engj land. Last season he took the great- | est number of wickets in first-class | cricket—lß6 at an average of 21.5 Kennedy's work this season is extraordinarily fine. The only men who preceded him in the dual feat were George Hirst, who secured 208 wickets and scored 2385 runs in 1908, and, Albert Trott,. 239 wickets and 1139 runs ; in 1899, and a year later 211 wickets ' and 1337 runs. No one else, not even j the colossal W. G. Grace or the evergreen Wilfred Rhodes, has achieved. this feat.
