FLUCTUATIONS IN VALUE.

Tnus in December last, when lambs wree beW sent to.the freeamgworks, old lamb was selling in London at-e^d for heavy and bid for light; towards the end of January, when the new season's lamb was reaching; the market, prices advanced to 9d for heavy lamb and 9*d |or light weights. In February, the" nrices rose |to lOd for heavy and 10|d*for light, and for two weeks in-March the prices were lid for heavy and 12d for light. Since then the prices have fluctuated between lOd to lOjd for heavy and lOjd to lid for light. In January heavy-weight mutton was quoted at 5a and light sfd. Prices then ascended^ and in February the prices were 6^d and 7d for the respective weights. In March the prices were steady at Sd and 7d } ,rising /in April to 6fd and Tfd. 4 From the end'of May prices began to recede, and by the end of June the quotations were ssd and 6fd. Since then prices haye 0 gone back, and the latest quotations are 4jd for heavy and 5/d for light. Beef in January was quoted at^d for hinds and 4d for fores. Prices then began to fall, and all through March the quotations were 4d for hinds and 2|d for fores. In May and June the prices were 3|d and 2jd, but during the past month there was an improvement, the latest quotations being 4d for hinds and 3d for j fores.
