Maiden Hack —Joyride (R. S. Bagby) 1, Mark Over 2, Prowler 3. Also started: Reretoa, Morgen, Prince Imperial, Sonny Boy, Heatherite, Mountain Gun, Birka, Garlon. Won by a length and a half, two lengths between second and third. Time, 1.2 2-5. Waikanae Handicap—Heathersprfg (W. Bell) and Scotch Mixture (A. J. McFlynn) dead heat 1, Verbosity 3. Also started: Hyrax, Multifual, Queens Up, Actifid, Mumble, Orawia, Patetonga, Lord Muskerry, White Hope. The third horse was a head further back. Time, 1.42 2-5. Te Hapara Steeples—Gay Boy (C. Bracken) 1 3 Silver Stride 2, Polthogue 3. Also started: Powder King, Goldscene, Totara Jack, Oak Rose. Powder King, Goldscene, and Oak Rose fell, Totara Jack baulked, and Polthogue ran off. Won by four lengths. Polthogue, being remounted, was third, some minutes later. Time, 5.40. Second Hack Flat—Joyride (R; S. Bagby) 1, Golden Light 2, Chanlin 3. All started. Won by two lengths, four lengths Fenarating second and third, time, 1.*16. Turanganui Steeples — Ethiopian (Bowden) 1, Kowra 2, Te Awanui 3. Also started: Reparoa, Aurore, May-! field. Mayfield and Renaroa fell; ' Aurore dislodged his rider. Won by a neck, the third horse 100 yards away. Time, 4.40. Farewell Handican —Golden Light (A. G. Dixon) 1, Jovial 2, Persian King 3. Also started: Hookah, Barrier, Orawia, Pitch, Bonny Doreen, Cantahile, T,ord Muskerry, Ruruwai, Tirelpss, Westerner. Won by half a length, tbe third horse a neck away. Time. 1.16 2-5.
