STREET MELEE.

(BY TELEGRAPH—PUKSS ISSOCIATION ) i AUCKLAND, July 30. A gang of hoodlums interfered with a standing motor car, in which was a lady, on Saturday night. On two male friends of the lady arriving on the scene a melee ensued, one of them being seriously, assaulted with a bottle carried by one of the roughs. A newspaper reporter also went to the assistance of the party and he was rendered almost unconscious by a heavy blow from another bottle. j
