AUSTRALIA v. MANAWATU.
PALMERSTON N., July 12. -. The Association match between Australia and Manawatu was played today in fine weather. The ground was soft and slippery. The visitors showed superior combination and gave an excellent display. The .home team was fair in defence, but weak in. attack. Maunder scored shortly after the commencement, and a combined effort by the Australian forwards resulted in Ward goaling. Then Maunder scored the third goal, and the first spell ended: Australia 3, Manawatu nil. Bratten, following fast, scored the fourth ~ w goal, and after a fine solo run Ward secured the final goal, the game ending: Australia 5, Manawatu nil.
