Hawera A v. Hawera B team, at 2 p.m. sharp: A team —Howarth, Pooch, Nichol, Jarvis, B. Shrinipton, Walkley, Magnusson, Williscroft, Broomfield, Hart, Haddon, Sturrock. B team — Jones, Freakley (2), Brown, Barker, Davies (2), Piper, New bury, Lamb, Bryant, Fairweather. Poppies from France have sold well in the district of which Hawera was made the centre, and the result has been that approximately £161 has been realised. Figures are not yet complete, but the total for Hawera is estimated at about £95. All the money has not yet been received from the country districts, but the treasurer has in hard cash the sum of £100. The headmaster of the Hawera Main School handed in the sum of £29, which tad been raised by the sale of poppies by the children. The school sent a wreath to the memorial service, and a permanent one of poppies is to be hung in a rrlass case in the central hall.
