Labour has been referred to a general meeting of delegates from all branches, to meet at Wellington on May 9. I HOKITIKA, April 26. j Tbr executive of the Westland Agri- ; cultural and Pastoral Association resolved to congratulate the Premier and I Minister of the Post and Telegraph Department on their decisive, if belated, pronouncement that the P. and T. officers will not be permitted to ally with the Alliance of Labour, and rogrets that this body of the public service has so departed from the high ethics of the profession as to seek to j abandon their dependence and responsibility to the only supreme authority of the Dominion.? rt NEW PLYMOUTH, April 26. The following resolutions were carried at the annual meeting of the New Plymouth section on the Bth instant: (1) That, as the service has already expressed its opinion through the ballot box in a legally constituted manner, this section _views with surprise the action, of the Government in attempting to deprive post and telegraph officers of the rights already enjoyed by other branches of the service, and pledges itself to abide loyally by the. direction of the executive council; (2) that the members of this section piedge theiiabsolute loyalty to home,' King, and country, and its association, despite the organised propaganda of the Welfare League and other capitalist organisations.
