RIVERLEA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.)
The annual meeting of the Hall Society was held in the hall last ±'riday evening, the following officers beingelected: President, Mr B. L. Webby (re-elected); secretary, Mr A. E. Mills; auditor, Mr A. Shaw. Messrs A. Campbell, C. W. Lorkin and J. Campbell were elected members of the society. The balance-sheet showed a fairly substantial credit balance, which will be used in effecting some long overdue and much needed repairs to the hall. * A dancing class will be held in the hall on Wednesday evening at 7.30 o'clock. Those wishing to gain tuition in this popular pastime are requested to roll up in full force.
Last Wednesday evening the Metliodist Bible Class, previously conducted so successfully by Mr Avery, was held under the leadership of the Rev. Mr Kendon, our new minister. It is very gratifying to see such large numbers of young people present at these meetings and to hear such interesting and instructive papers read. The usual weekly service was held on Sunday evening, when the Rev. Kendon preached his first sermon in Riverlea to a fairly large congregation.
As the fancy dress ball draws'nearer the excitement of the young folk increases accordingly. We have been specially fortunate in securing the services of Mr Oakenfull and his band to supply the music for the ball, and feel assured that the public will be in for a real treat.
