'3? CABLE—PEESS ASSOCIATION—COPYSIGHT Received March 28, 11.20 a.m LONDON, March 27. Mr Collins has made a statement "•"that he would attend, through the Pro- - visional Government, but had not sought the conference in London. The Jfree State had been ever ready to Teach an agreement with Sir James "Craig and had gone far to meet the lat"ter. It had never broken any undertaking given. Unfortunately Sir James -'Craig had not been equally meticulous. He neither kept an undertaking nor ■attempted to meet the Free State on several controversial points. Though hoping for the best from the conference, Mr Collins paid he could not see :.any escape from the Northern impasse until Sir James Craig radically altered his inimical attitude towards the Free -State and Belfast's helpless minority.
