The debate on the Pacific Treaty wae continued to-day in the Senate, speeches being limited to on© hour, in order to j reach a vote on Friday. 1 Senator Walsh declared that he would vote against the Treaty, because it did not include all the possible parties \o a dispute, hence it was not judicial *n its alliance, which would result in the creation of other alliances to counteract { it. It alienates friendly Powers like Russia and China, extends American protection, which other parties are apt to need in return for the protec-iion ! which America should furnish herself. ; Senator Pomerance expressed disappointment that further progress had not been made towards forming an Association of Nations, which President Harding promised. He would support the Treaty.
