DROP OF ONE PENNY

(BY TELEGIUrH—PRESS ABSOCIAriON . . , AUCKLAND, Sep. 14. A drop of one penny per lb. in the retail price ot butter was announced tp-dav following a meeting of the Aupkland Provincial Butter Committee.

_ The meeting carried a resolution to the effect Tnat owing to the drop in the Home market it will be a recommendation from the committee that the wholesale price of first grade butter be 2s per lb. bulk, at the factory door, and 2s Id for pats at the factory door (plus id for delivery at Auckland), in order to make the maximum retail price of 2s 4d per lb.
