IT is proposed to petition Parliament with a view to having the latest valuation of the County revised and brought more into line with the recent valuations of adjoining counties. At present the inequitable values in the Hawera County impose a most unjust proportion of the taxes levied for Hospital and Charitable Aid, Harbour Rates, Land Tax, etc. Forms of petition may be seen at the following places: The Dairy Factories at Mokoia, Whakamara, Meremere, , Ohangai, Ararata, Tawhiti, Okaiawa, Tokaora; and Normanby, and at the Council's office, Hawera, and ratepay ers are requested to attach their signatures as early as possible.
