WOOL MARKET.
YORKSHIRE VIEWS OF THE B.A.W.R.A.
1Y CABIiK—P£EBS ASSOCIATION—COUYBIGHII Received Scot. 10. 9.45 a.m. LONDON,,Sept. 9. Commenting on Mr, Higgins' speech oh September 7, the Yorkshire Post says that a gradual recovery from the slump in wool wag inevitable, and would have come if there had been no B.A.W.R.A. Improved economic conditions are responsible, for the return -of confidence in the wool industry, and tfee larger sates and firmer markets which, Higgias claims are due to the B|l.W.lt.A,'*, action as instructed for regulating tfee flow of wool to the market is largely, be it remembered, at Britain's expense, as rationing had mitigated ib© financial crisis, but had nothing to do with the restoration of, economic conditions and the return of confidence and the greater ontmmption wnich is responsible for the in.wove, meat in wool values. The yrowors will fleiubtles* see through Mr. K»Kstns' sophistry, and wiH_probably ark wh> s npw-that the B.A.W.R.A. has so little good merino to offer, should merino growers any longer tolerate this syndicate interfering with their private selling? Important interests have already declared in. favour of the removal of control. Users, will be surprised if they consent to further wool selling The ffblicjr dictated by the y B.A.W.R.A. regulation of offerings can easily be arranged in conference with the selling girowers and buyers, and thus the. expen&e of maintaining the B.A.W.R.A, -can be saved. -
