Scores: Rhodes, c Mailey, b Macdonald ... 12 \ Sandham, c and b Mailey 60 Hearne, «: Hendry, b Mailey 22 I Hendren, c Bardeley, b Mailey ... 1 I Woolley, c Collins, b Mailey 'A Hitch, c and b Mailey 7 Mead, not out ~ 12 Douglas, not out 5 Extras ~ 7 Mailey figured prominently in the Englishmen's second knock { taking five wickets for 49 besides which he made a catch off McDonald, which accounted for the sixth wickot. AlcDonald and Hendry opened the bowling to Sandham and Rhodes. Both batsmen became busy and rattled up 39. when lthodes was snapped up in tho slips. AVith Hearne in, a merry pace was maintained. Sandham was particularly aggressive and made some fine off strokes. Armstrong tried several changes before Mailey appeared and ended Sandham's career with a catch off ihfe own bowling. Two for 87. Hearne, at 22, was taken in tho slips. Three for 92. M»iloy bagged the next three wickets for an additional fifteen, Hendren bejpg caught in the long field and Woolley at tho leg boundary, and Hitch from a skier, all of them trying to force the pace. Six wickets were down for 107, but Mead and Douglas, with their eyes on the clock, took no chances and played out time.
