A telegram from Philadelphia states that the Australians are resting there on the eve of the national singles championships. They have actively participated since their arrival in the United States in a large number of strenuous exhibition and official matches, as well as a long round ot social engagements, but all are feeling fit.
Hawkes is recovering from an attack of mild ptomaine poisoning, but it is expected he will be able to participate in the championships.
