Quite a nice litle~ crowd turned out at the farewell to Mr E. Foreman (Mickie) who has left Tils birthplace for Dannevirke to join his peopje. Mickie ] was always a favourite here, both on ' the sports ground and in the ciarce room. He was one of 'the best liockey players in Taranaki, aria* will be much missed by the club next season. At the social, Mickgie was presented with a safety razor by Mr M. Priest, on behalf of the Hockey Club, and a veiy fine hockey stick by Superintendent Ward, on behalf of the Kaponga Fire Brigade, of which Mickie has been a messenger for the past five years, and a fountain pen by P.G, Bro. Melville, on .behalf of the Oddfellow's Lodge. Although only a boy, Mickie holds the highest esteem of those who know him. The ladies of the Tennis Club gave one of their-number "(Miss Mason) an afternoon on the courts last week: - onwhich occasion she was presented with a very hne silver-backed mirror. The school children also presented Miss Mason with a silver-backed brush and teaching; here time and has made her mark as an infant teacher, JV uch wl il *» hard to replace.
