THE DISTRIBUTION

JLhe Defence Department is snaking satistactory progress in the distribution of war medals- The issue of *Ye 1914----15 star has been completed as far as traceable recipients are ctfac^rned, but the department has a surplus of two thousand ftiedals and is ranahle to trace owners. have feeen sent to all entitled -to receive the"* decoration, in the casfc of death to the next-of-kin, and in many cases there 'has been no response. Persons who have not received the medal are asked to commuwk&fte with the war medals branch. The British war "medal is now being distributed ahphabe'trcafly at the rate of five hundred per day. Supplies ot the victory medal will next receive attention. The nPakeha has a consignment of fifty thousand, and the stampiirg -and despatching of these will be undertaken as soon as the general service "medal is'disposed of." Finally the clasps will be distributed.
