THE PROSPECTIVE PROFITS.
A letter was iretyeived by t the * Borough Council at its .meeting [last night from the Hawera.branch of the R.S.A., requesting that ;flny profits .from, the war trophies exhibition to be held in .iHawera be haaxded .oyer tp :the resumed soldiery .-so tthat they might be i.used in assist„%£ ftp the new dub.
.The Mayor said there was a -sum of £40 still owing in (Qonneotion with the peace celebrations., and if they .could obtain the Auda&ar-Generai's consent to this amount out of funds already available, he {thought the fseturned soldiers should have the first claim on the proceeds from :the trophies exhibition. Then, if a sufficient peofit was made, he thought they might."make a donation to $10 womefl'-g rest room.
