' A claim was heard at the il'aigistr-.ite's Court to-day against the Shaw Savill Co. for £50 foT the loss of a cabin trunk and content®, consigned from Wellington to Westport. Plaintiff had "booked from Liverpool to Wellington and hack, :and iihe passenger ticket issued contained a clause undertaking to forward iihe specified quantity of .luggage to Westport. The defenee contended that the journey from Liverpool to Wellington was governed by English law and the coast-' wise journey by New Zealand law. Defendants were not liable for the loss of the baggage^ beyond £10 unless the value was declared and extra freight paid. This was not done. The magistrate concurred and -judgment was given for defendants. " i
