The Government Meteorologist's forecast for the 24 hours from 9 a.m. to-day is as follows: Very stormy weather may be expected. The indications are for westerly heavy gale, and backing by west to south. Heavy rain is to be, expected, with rivers rising shortly, and the weather will, probably become very cold.
