STRATFORD (15). v. KAPQNGA (14) I Stratford arid Kapongaf met at Stratford, andi after a keen Contest Stratford,- (who led ,by a margin, of seven points, jutt managed to retain! the lead by a point. ■. Stratford, kicked off, and i at once theitf opponents set up a strong I forward attack, which'ended in Guthrie securing from a loose rush and getting over the line. Lynskey converted. Keeping up .the pressure Stratford "Were forced on several occasions.. From • a free kick shortly after Lynskey again placed a fine goal. Play was even for a time till Kiyell marked near the Kaponga goal and' kicked a> fine goal. Just on half-time Stratford worked ciown the field, and Gray, after a short dodgy run, scored a try, which was not converted. Prom the opening of the second spe.U Stratford kept Kaponga on the defence, and) from a scrum Collins secured and dashed over at the corner. Shortly after he repeated the perfdrmr ance. Neither was converted. In the short time left KapongaVnrake a great effort and Dimock kicked a good goal from a mark and Humphries scored a Teally good try, the game ending' in favour of Stratford iby a point. Mr WKoch was referee.
