A special meeting of the Town Boar<T was hejd on Monday night to meet a, deputation from the Patriotic Committee m regard to the position in which,: the : .memorials should be placed. Messsr McPhillips, Bridge, Snowdon,. McKay, and Stevenson waited on the Board. The Boardi discussed the matter and it was agreed "that the matter be left to Mr. Gibson, of Hawera,. to decide the position, Mr. Christie to place the Board's view and one member of the patriotic executive to, put their side of the question before MrGibson, both sides to abide by Mr. Gibson's decision given in writing." Mr.. McPhillips, en behalf of the deputation, said they would consider the matter - at the meeting on Friday and would 5, give their decision later.
