DANCE RECITAL

A very interesting and attractive programme was presented by Miss Gladys Moore ana her pupils at the Opera House on • Thursday evening. The concerted items "Highland Fling," "Irish Jig," "Narcissus and Butterfly," and "Scotch Reel" were very Sretty, graceful and effective. Miss loore herself appeared in six numbers, and in each was most successful, and well deserved the enthusiastic applause that followed. She was recalled several times. The dances were widely different in character, and gave her great opportunity to show her art. Here monologue was nicely spoken. Miss Mary Barnes sang four longs quite artistically and with considerable expression, and was recalled. The country dance by Miss J. Rogers, the "Song of Spring" by Miss D. Miller, and Welsh dance by Miss W. Hoddle were all pretty and artistic, and reflected the greatest credit on Miss Moore's tuition. Songs were given in fine style by Mr Grace and Mr Blyth, and both were most • enthusiastically, received. The accompaniments were played with excellent taste % Mr W. Fennell and Mrs Grace. • Altogether the recital was a great success. Miss Moore acknowledges the kindness of many willing helpers, especially the management and staff of the Opera House.1,
