MEETING OF HAWERA CLTJB'S

COMMITTEE.

At a meeting of the committee of the Hawera Amateur Athletic Association on Wednesday evening, the following business was transacted: The draft copy of the programme of the sports meeting to be held on March 16 was approved of and adopted.

It was decided that the allocation of trophies be left to the programme committee.

All donors of trophies, orders, or cash exceeding the value of 10s would receive an honorary member's ticket. The president (Mr H. B. Burdekin) stated nis intention of donating a trophy for annual competition, to be awarded to the member gaining the greatest number of points during the season. Novelty events would not count. A motion of thanks was passed to Mr Burdekin for his generosity. It was decided to write a letter emphatically protesting against the action of the New- Zealand A.A.A.^s Council in declining to reinstate the club's hon. secretary, Mr G. H. Weir. It is reported that the president will take the matter up with members of the council when he visits Wellington shortly.
