ANNUAL CONFERENCE

(BT 4TEI_EGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.! DUNEDIN, Feb. 16.

The New Zealand Federation of Drapers and Clothiers held their first -.annual conference to-day, Mr J. Rennet! (Auckland) presiding. Officers elected were: President, Mr Rennell; vice-president, Mr E. H. Wylesh (Christchurch); member of advisory board, Mr W. Simm (Wellington); "auditor, Mr M. E. Nichols (Wellington). It was resolved that the conference affirms the desirability of closer cooperation between the employer and employees,' and the inauguration among members of a systematic course of instruction to encourage greater efficiency among junior members of the staff.

It was decided that, the proposal that the Government be asked to institute a postage cash oil delivery system be referred back to the local associations for consideration.
