THE RACES. The traffic through the town during the race days was particularly heavy, especially motor cars, and although the Town Boawl had men out to- regulate the traffic and to enforce the by-laws, they had a .hard and thankless job. and as a result a large number of invita-i tions to appear at the Magistrate's Court will, I understand, be issued. For some time past some owners of cars arid motor bikes have made themselves a nuisance and a danger to pedestrians by reason of the excessive speed they have travelled at through the town, especially past the school, and now that the by-laws are being -'-t- 'p force it is hoped that this practice will receive a check.
