The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated Meat—English, trade slow but good! tone; supplies of beef and mutton are heavier. Average prices are: Beef Is 4jd, mutton Is 9d, lamb. 2s per lb imported, satisfactory trade Butter—With increased Government lation, demand for free^ butter is consnderably smaller. Irish, market very unsettled; best made £21 per cwt (3s «cl per lb) m London- this wee*-, while m Liverpool' best freely offered at £18 15s to £20 per cwt (3s4tTt o 3s 6%$ per lb). but very little- sold:.
