WELLINGTON. Dec. 15
The Olympic team, comprising Miss V. Walroyiid, and Messrs H. E. Wilson, G ; Davidson and D. Hadfield, returned by the Moeraki to-day. All are well and they were given an enthusiastic reception at the wharf.
A civic reception was tendered to the team in the Town Hall this evening, there being a large attendance. Mayor Luke congratulated the tea nion its efforts, stating that everyone realised that with more training and an earlier start from the Dominion, greater success would have been achieved. New Zealanders were very nroud of their
Olympic team, and although no firsts had been'secured, tno team's prowess had enabled every member to qualify, and that in itself was a very great honour at a world gathering. Replying, Mr Wilson, manager of the team, said the team was beaten, but not disgraced. Each member had done well, and Hadfield especially had shown that there were only two better scullers than he in the world. Miss Walrond also had done exceptionally well, and had received praise from Fannie Durack.
