LONDON, Oct. 22. 1 The Handley Page Company have received information from their correspondents that the North-German Lloyd Company has succeeded in. forming a "combine" of the leading ' aviation companies in Germany, Austria, and Denmark:

The companies interested include the Albatross, of Berlin, the Badische Lqftverkehr, of Baden, the Bavarian Rumpler Werke, of Augsburg and Berlin, the Hanoverian Waggonfabrik, Wollers, of Dessau, Lloyd Luftdienst, of Bremen^ the Sablatnig, of Berlin, and the Viennese Flugverkehrs-Gesell-schaft, of Vienna. sThe German combine owns a number of commercial aeroplanes with saloon accommodation, capable of carrying from four to eight passengers and mails. Electrically-heated foot-warm-ers have been, fitted for the comfort of travellers during the winter season. The service between Vienna and Berlin is via Nuremburg and. Munich. The German aviation companies are not permitted, at present, to fly over Czecho-Slovakia,- but many communications have been decided upon in order to link lip Northern Germany v with Switzerland,- Austria, and Constantinople, and Also. with a view to communicating with the International Air Twines in the West. The rate by the new ' 'combine" for passengers between Vienna and Berlin is 2500 marks single, at the present rate of exchange £11 15s. This is about three times as* much as the charge at present for a nrst-class ticket single, including sleeping-car charges. The time taken b?. *he. radway is 26 hours, as ccbipared with the 4 hours 50 minutes by the *\ eW 7 a, ir. route- Italy is also to be included in the service from Vienna to Milan, a distance of 385 miles, with a nymg time of 4 hours 20 minutes
