Yesterday morning a i posse of nfty masked men visited the' | gaol and removed three of the prison- | era, Boyd, Fitts , and Tarento, and hanged them on a single branch tree. * ire ot their companions were lynched ' Ihe men arrested with them were jcmoved from the custody of the San *rancisco police and placed in charge ot State officials. The Chief of Police is investigating statements that policemen friends of the murdered officers Darticimted in the lynching. There are indications ti.at it was arranged that no resistance Has made by the gaol officials at Santa Rosa when the lynchers arrived.
