ENGINE-DRIVER SHOT BY SENTRY.
MUCH DESTRUCTION AT CORK
(Received Dec. 13, 9.20 a.m.) . LONDON, Dec. 12, James Lawloiy engine-driver, for failing to answer the sentry's challenge at 4,i*more, was shot dead. English newspapers were seized and burned at the liismore raiJway station. There were big explosions and incendiary fires in the Cory City Hall, the Carnegie Library, and a number of (theatres were destroyed, and the fronts of three blocks, embracing many large lmsine|S houses in Patrick street, were reduced to ruins. Two large draperies vrere blown- into the street. There were no fatalities. The outrages axe alleged to be reprisals for kidnapping officers-and-shooting troops. i
