Though the British commander on the Rhine ordered that all arms in private possession in the occupied area must be given up by the 20th inst., General yon der Goltz announces that arms will not be given up, because to do so would mean certain ruin to the Fatherland. He urges that armed discharged soldiers' should be employed on farms in order to protect landowners against Spartacists.
