Yucatan, jumping badly, last. Approaching the second fence Argo took the lead, followed by Whakamoa and Stelpaul. Yucatan made no effort to jump, this fence, and he blundered right through it, throwing his jockey clear. Argo led over the stand double, at the second fence of which Stelpaul fell, and his rider was slightly stunned. , Along 'the top bend Whakamoa took the lead, and, jumping nicely, he went on to win by twelve lengths from Argo. Time, 4.33*. KAPONGA FLYING HANDICAP, of 35 soys. Six furlongs. Mr T. Higgin's br m Lady General, 6yrs, by General Latour—Romola, 8.11 (Corlett) 1 Mr H. W. Johnston's br g Tirana, aged, 8.11 (L. The winner got a flying start, and was quickly in the lead, followed by Tirana~.and Master Curran. Two furlongs from home Master Curran ran into second place. Lady General maintained her advantage to the post, winning by two lengths from Tirana, who finished fast on the outside and beat Master Curran by two lengths for second place, with White Ranger fourth. With a furlong gone Lady Leo joined the leader, ' and this pair led a strung-out field to .the straight, where Complex and Kickapoo made forward moves. Lady Paula went on and won by two lengths from Complex, on whom McCormac- rode a great* finish. Kickapoo was a neck behind Complex, ajid Lady Leo a head further back fourth. Time, 1.6.
