The Hokitika jollifications covering the Prince's visit concluded with & children's ball, which proved ia re■cord gathering in town proceedings ar.d -was marked by great heartiness. _Duiing the evening the children carried & xesolution, amid cheering and musical JioDiors, asking the Mayor to convey to the Prince their grateful thanks from the children for his visit which will be held here in the kindest memory.

Mr Perry (Mayor), and Mr Bruce {county chairman), telegraphed the Governor-General, asking him to convey to their Majesties the grateful thanks of the people of Westland for the opportunity afforded by the visit of the Prince of expressing their affection to the Throne. «
