STEAMER SINKS IN PANAMA CANAL.

SYDNEY, Jan. 28. Advice has been received that the cargo steamer Marne, en route from New York to Australia, caught fire and sank in the Panama Canal. The Marne was full of cargo, including consignments for Auckland and Wellington.
