SNOWFALL IN SOUTHLAND.
(BY TELEGRAPH—PBESU ASSOCIATION.) INVERCARGILL* Sept. 2. Invercargill was under a white mantle ithis morning, and sno w was stall falling at 11.30 intermittently. Reports .from the country show that the fall was light at ..Kingston, where four inches was reported, but it is now clearing, though the weather is bitterly cold. COLD S&OWERS EXPECTED. The Dominion . Meteorologist tele-:graphed/to-day:.The indications are for southerly strong winds to~ a gale at times, with a westerly tendency. The weather wil probably prove cold and .showery. The barometer has a falling tendency, but is unsteady. ' Tides good; -sea heavy.
