IN THE MATTER of "The Opunake Harbor Act, 1908," "The Harbor Act, 1908," ".The Public Works Act, 1908," and "The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913," and the several Amendments of those Acts, and of A Proposal to raise a. Special Loan of £50.000 for Harbor Construction and other Works and purposes. PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given -* that in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested i n it by the abovementioned Acts, The Opunake Harbor Board proposes to raise a Special Loan of £50.000, the particulai-s of which ere as follows: — (a) To construct such Harbor Works as the Board may from, time to time consider necessary or advisable for the requirements of, or for improvements in, or to, the Harbor of Opunake, and also to erect q,nd construct all such wharves, cranes, sheds and works as the Board shall deem necessary, and for providing proper access to and ■ from: such works. AND obtain Boulder Stone and .Rubble, and provide all necessary means for i-he conveyance of such, AND to purchase or acquire irom any'company, or firm, such V wharf, sheds, trams, barges an-i other plant as the Board shall ; deem ngcessary or expedient. (b) The sum proposed'to be borrowed for such purposes is £50j000. (c) The proposed security for payment of interest and sinking fund in* connection with such ■. '.•/■ loan, is; -:.; ■■■ >'._.•. ■• '.•■•' ■. - (1) A special annual, recurring rate on the^capital value of all rateable property in the Opunake Harbor District, and to oe made and levied in jmanner following, namely,, (A) A rate of 44/61 st of a penny in the pound Qver the whole of the said Harbor District excluding that portion of thi ««««id District being the Opjfcake Town District. (B) A rate of 2 and 10/61 st of a penny in the pound' over tho said Opunake Town District. (2; All revenues derivable by the Board from its wharves, lands and all other sources. (d) The loan is to have a currency of thirty-six and" a-half years, and bear interest at a rate not exceeding Five Pounds Ten Shillings (£5/10/-) per centum per annum, und a sinking fund of one per centum per annum. (c) It is 'proposed to pay out of the loan the cost of raising the same , (including an underwriting commission, the cost and expenses of promoting any Bills relating t,o •'The Opunake.
