Gazeley proved a useful horse on the turf, among his wins being the Napier Cup Bennett Stakes and Wellington Handicap. Hls general appearance is very attractive, as lie has the clean-cut head, wide forehead, and prominent eyes, which denote character, and are great essentials in a blood sire. His grand-dam, Lady Peggy, was by Hermit, a great racehorse and sire, whose stock won £340,000. Quetta, dam of Grey Leg, Gazeley's sire, was by the great horse Bend 'Or, who was by the sire of Orme, who sired Flying Fox. Gazeley has great credentials as a sire, and his stock number many fine performers, who liave done remarkably well. One of them, Gazique, won the. Winter Cup at Christchurch, value £1000.
