WATERSIDERS REFUSE TO WORK

Watersiderg have refused to accept an engagement to discharge a large1 quantity of luggage from the transport Briton, because it is reported there were three cases of influenza aboard, and tbjO union is bound by the Watersiders' Federation resolution • not to work the vessel until seven days have elapsed after the last case of influenza has been removed from the ship. The authorities do not consider the cases of the Briton of a malignant epidemic type, and it is stated that the water■siders will -consider the position again to-day.
