ACCIDENT IN UNION STREET
A PEDESTRIAN INJURED
Another motor accident occurred shortly before one o'clock this afternoon in Union street, resulting in Mr W. Whyte, agent for the Simplex Milking Machine Co., receiving a nasty wound to his leg. It appears that Mr Clive Walsho, of the motor department of the Farmers' Co-op., was riding his motor cycle along Union street, and when opposite the Farmers' Co-op, machinery depot he noticed a trap in front of him, while there was another motor cycle coming along the street from the opposite direction When Mr Walshe got within a short distance from the trap he also saw Mr Wbyte walking across the road from the direction of Gillanders' stable. He blew his horn, put on his brakes, . and shut off the engine. Mr Whyte, apparently watching the other cyclist, hesitated, and Mr Walshe ran into him, the fork of the front wheel penetrating the right leg, inflicting a very ugly wound. The wheel had to be removed before the sufferer could be extricated from his position. He' was taken into the Farmers' Co-op, depot, where he received attention from Dr Sloan, who had to put in several stitches. Mr Whyte was afterwards removed to Mr Cuff's residence m Princes street.
